I have Photoshop CC 2015 running great on Windows 10 on my ep121. So all my hotkeys are covered without any need for touch. I have the pen switch buttons programmed so they do different things for click, click + drag, lower then upper, upper then lower, long press, double click, triple click, and so on. And I wrote an autohotkey script to allow me to send hotkeys with the switch on my wacom pen (the one that comes with the ep121 doesn't have any buttons on it, but you can get other compatible pens, like the Toshiba Lifebook pen, or the Axiotron pen, which do have a switch) and with a little powerpoint remote I hold in my left hand as I draw. I made a shortcut in my taskbar to turn the entire touchscreen on and off. Thank you for the reply, I appreciate it a lot ^^ Im sure there's one around already though. If interest peaks I can make a thread about that and the different toolbars etc. I usually use seperate devices instead of toolbars though, like mapping my Wiimote with shortcuts so I don't have to fondle
The solutions I found was to use a seperate software that disables the area your pen is touching, you can adjust the size of that area and how much delayed its movements is when you draw with the stylus, very nifty!
I use the modified graphics drivers that was recommended in the Windows 8 update sticky thread The second issue was just something i mentioned off topic but I'll consider installing the latest drivers when I'm in need of photoshop.
(Aka, coping with poor palm rejection by disabling touch, but keeping the sweet functionality of the toolbars which you I had issues getting the toolbar's touch disable feature to work on Paint tool Sai specifically (it works fine for PS) Sorry if the posts are a bit messy but the short of it is that: So doesn't the software above (or PaintDock or ArtDock) work in Sai? If not, you can maybe try to customize them to your own needs (see some instructions I posted in post #80 here: )īy the way, I know these scripts are very cool, but maybe you'll also be interested in the toolbars we've prepared for Photoshop and Sai (see the first post here for links to different toolbars):
Photoshop CS6 is bad on Win8 (with that, I can't help except maybe to suggest you try the latest driver (if you haven't done so already) as it seems with other tablets to have solved many Photoshop problems on Win8) seems like you are reporting two completely different problems: Reading your post again, I'm not sure what you are saying. I don't use Win8 on my EP121 but in other parts of this forum it seems like users of Win8 on other tablets have been able to use these scripts (ArtDock, PaintDock, etc.) successfully. The original script was developed here (this guy is the genius here!):Īs great as they are (and they are great!), PaintDock and ArtDock are just customized versions of the script above. I was wondering if someone here knew if it was an issue with the pen itself, or if it's SAI (however I did try drawing on Photoshop and had the same problem) or if it's just a setting I need to change. The script in the YouTube video has been discussed extensively on this forum: If you've used SAI, it feels like you have the stabilizer on the entire time which is a bitch to draw with especially for sketches. It's really inconsistent to draw and when I attempt to sketch something, it's a brief stroke and it doesn't feel very fluid. I've been told that it's not the cursor you need to pay attention to - it's the location of the pen itself (very different to Wacom pens for me).Įven when I draw with no cursor, I still have a problem with the pen dragging the stroke well behind the brush. I downloaded Paint Tool SAI and did some fiddling to get pen pressure sensitivity working, however when I actually draw, I've noticed that the pen stroke lags behind the cursor by a considerable amount. I currently have a Cintiq for my main pc and wanted something mobile for on the go, and heard some great recommendations for this from other artists and friends.
I got a Surface Pro 4 today (i5, 128gb) and was super excited to give drawing a try on this sort of device.
